Training Agreement

I acknowledge that firearms are dangerous weapons; and that any defensive training, whether utilizing firearms, training weapons, hand to hand skills, knives or other normal or improvised weapons, is an inherently dangerous activity. I understand that all tactics, techniques, and procedures I learn are intended to only be used in a lawful manner for defense of my life or another person’s life and in accordance with all federal, state and local laws. I understand I may be injured/killed while being a willingly participating in this activity.

While participating in firearms related training, I agree to follow the firearms safety rules as explained by the instructors, staff of Nielsen Training and Consulting and those outlined in this document. I also agree to comply immediately and fully with all range commands. The basic firearms safety rules are:

Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are aligned and you have made the conscious decision to shoot.
Never allow your muzzle to cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
Always be sure of your targets foreground and of its background.
Never try to catch a dropped weapon.

I agree to hold Nielsen Training and Consulting; it’s owners, associates, ranges, instructors and hosts, harmless from all liability arising from lawful or unlawful actions on the part of all participants, organizers and trainers participating in this training activity. Under penalty of perjury, I can legally possess a firearm and can legally attend this course in the United States of America. I also agree to know and obey all federal, state and local laws pertaining to the firearms I am using. I further take complete responsibility for my actions and choices should I be involved in a lethal force encounter.

I further give Nielsen Training and Consulting permission to use my photographic likeness and name in all forms of media for the purposes of advertising, publications, training or instructional materials.
