DESCRIPTION:
The goal of this class is to teach you how to comfortably and safely operate your handgun. The majority of the class will be spent hands-on with your firearm.
You will start out in the classroom, learning the firearm safety rules, including what you should and shouldn’t do when handling your gun. We will cover the basics of how the gun and ammunition work, teach you what the parts of the gun are called, and provide tips for racking the slide more easily. You will learn how to load, reload, and unload the gun, and verify that it is unloaded. Then we will teach you how to grip your gun, stand, line up your sights on the target, and pull the trigger.
Most of the rest of the class will be spent on the range where you will start with basic drills to practice what you learned in the classroom and get comfortable with operating and firing your gun. The instructor will give you feedback and tips to help you dial in your accuracy as the class progresses.
At the end we will return to the classroom to show you how to clean your gun and store it safely.
WHAT’S NEXT?: After taking this course, participants will be prepared to take Ready Gunner Womens Handgun 2 Join the Co-ed Handgun 2, where you will have some repetition of the above techniques along with learning movement techniques, multiple targets, and begin incorporating the use of a holster.
