DESCRIPTION
Level 3 of NTAC’s Home Defense and CQB Academy continues to build on topics and skills introduced in Level 1 and 2. Level 3 begins with questions and review, then focuses on situational awareness: keeping track of the training environment, recalling areas already encountered, recognizing the presence of team members, family members, animals, and other potential hazards while actively searching for targets.
Participants will practice target identification in daylight and diminished lighting conditions, with training scenarios that emphasize threat assessment and target acquisition, shoot/no shoot decisions, and looking for hidden threats.
Scenarios may include working individually or in teams, and will progress through exercises involving single or multiple rooms. Participants will address targets with their airsoft firearms, and will receive ‘scores’ based on target accuracy. The debrief will include a review of the skills practiced, and identify areas for improvement. As always, additional foundational firearms training is encouraged.
Utah laws relevant to self and home defense will be discussed to help participants develop a more informed and responsible approach to emergency planning.
This course is an excellent continuation and development of the required skills necessary to successfully complete our full-day Home Defense Close Quarters Battle (CQB) course.
