Jacom Stephens
Owner and Marketing Director
Since childhood, Jacom has been extremely passionate about freedom, adventure, learning and increasing his capabilities. Intensely patriotic, Jacom loves this country and the principles of liberty, equality and justice that it was founded upon. He believes that morality coupled with personal responsibility leads to maximum personal freedom.
A natural protector, Jacom has always admired the bravery, honor, and sacrifice of our armed forces. At the age of 17, Jacom joined the U.S. Army Reserve as a Combat Engineer (12B). Later as a father, trying to fulfill what he believes to be the two main roles of men… to protect and to provide… Jacom became engrossed in practical emergency preparedness. That lead him to purchase a handgun and seek out professional firearms training so that he could better ensure his family’s safety and security.
Little did he know that his initial handgun purchase nearly 20 years ago would lead to him becoming so involved with the firearms, self defense, and tactical industry. Since then, Jacom has competed in over 100 shooting competitions (IDPA, USPSA, and 3‑Gun) throughout Utah, Idaho, Arizona, and Nevada. In 2017 Jacom competed in the UDPL Utah State Back-Up Gun Championship and won third place overall, competing in the Semi-Auto division.
Jacom has attended over 110 full days of professional training courses including: defensive handgun, concealed carry, long gun tactical, advanced tactical handgun, stop the bleed, low light shooting and light discipline, shoot or no shoot decision making, empty hand and edged weapons, close quarters battle (CQB), tactical scenarios, moral and legal ramifications, force on force training, handgun combat master prep, land navigation, post lethal force encounter considerations, long range precision rifle, squad tactics, room clearing (as an individual and as a team), night vision carbine, vehicle tactics, active shooter scenarios simulator, etc.
Selected by the Department of Homeland Security, Jacom acted as Opposing Force (OP4) for an Active Shooter course the DHS taught to Utah’s law enforcement SWAT teams (various agencies). He has attended the Davis County Sheriff Citizens Police Academy, and has been a range safety officer at many shooting events including Shootah and the Utah Peace Officer Association’s annual shooting competitions. He has been a part-time firearms instructor since 2018.
Jacom is a passionate outdoorsman and enjoys hiking and camping, skiing, dirt biking, skydiving, rock climbing, dog training, and scuba diving in his free time. Also an avid world traveler, Jacom has been to dozens of countries on every continent except for Antartica, and has a long bucket list of countries he still intends to visit.
