Baylen Sabatini

Staff Instructor

As an instructor in the Army, Baylen gained valuable experience that he now brings to Nielsen Training’s rifle program, and is a dedicated mentor to many of NTAC’s students.

Baylen first discovered an interest in firearms at age 8, shooting rifles and shotguns with his Scout troop in the deserts of Arizona.

At 14, he began working on dirt track stock cars, repaired and rebuilt engines, and essentially became a one man pit crew.  Baylen was even a driver in numerous races.

Enlisting in the Army at 18, Baylen was initially assigned to an engineering unit, and while stationed in Germany, his unit decommissioned the old Army base at Schweinfurt. Returning stateside, he was stationed in the state of Washington as part of the Pacific Defense QRF, and subsequently was assigned to a QRF in Korea along the DMZ.

Baylen’s experience as a firearms instructor began in the army, where he was responsible for helping train over 1,000 recruits in the basics of marksmanship to prepare them for basic rifle qualification.

Baylen also served as a vehicle mechanic and recovery operator, where his responsibilities also included logistics and coordination during numerous air assault operations.  Baylen’s unit would rig various resupply materials, trucks, howitzers and other vehicles for transport by Blackhawks; he also was responsible for training soldiers to operate vehicles and equipment while using night vision.

After 11 years of service, Baylen separated from the Army in 2021, and focused on being an entrepreneur, including launching a woodworking business, an Etsy store, an Italian Ice Concession and a travel agency.  Baylen is self-taught in the use of CNC machines, 3D printing, woodworking and construction; he used his carpentry, electrical and plumbing knowledge to convert and refurbish the trailer he now uses for his Italian Ice concession.

As a result of his experience with CNC production machines, Baylen also worked at local business as a Manufacturing Engineer, where he built, maintained and repaired CNC production machines and refined the company’s use of aggregate tennioning.

Baylen is a certified NRA instructor and dedicated mentor for many NTAC students.  In his free time, Baylen enjoys motorcycles and streams video games on Twitch.
