Defensive Handgun
8 hours — Decision making, legal and moral considerations, drawing from the holster with concealment, body positions, quick sight acquisition, firing from retention, clearing malfunctions, etc.
Our Defensive Handgun course is the benchmark for our handgun curriculum, and is highly recommended for individuals that have decided to carry a firearm for self-defense. Our professional staff will teach you modern handgun fighting techniques to effectively win an armed encounter.
A demanding course, Defensive Handgun utilizes multiple repetitions and instructor guidance to help you refine the core fundamentals of handgun fighting techniques, including rapid deployment from your holster and concealment, target acquisition and accuracy while moving, retention fire, and effective clearance of malfunctions.
Additionally, this course also includes discussion of the legal and moral considerations of carrying a handgun for self-defense, along with providing you with effective drills you can practice at home to further refine your skills.
PREREQUISITES: Handgun Proficiency or equivalent

Defensive Rifle
8 hours — How to zero your rifle, fundamental rifle manipulations, managing recoil, body positioning, rifle presentation drills, target acquisition, follow-up shots for target transitions, etc.
Our Defensive Rifle course was created to help you get familiar with your own firearm, and feel comfortable using it, understand the mechanics of the gun, be familiar with the way it feels in your hands and how it reacts when you fire it.
We will introduce you to modern rifle fighting techniques, proper target acquisition and shot placement to effectively win an armed encounter. You will take home effective drills and techniques that you can use in your own training regime.
This course will give you an adequate foundation and understanding of safety, handling, care, along with a new level of confidence in your ability handle and fire your rifle.
PREREQUISITES: Rifle Proficiency or equivalent
MINIMUM ROUND COUNT – 400 rounds
Defensive Shotgun
8 hours — Foundational skills for using a shotgun as a defensive weapon including proper ammo selection for various circumstances, swapping out ammo on the fly, etc.
Our fast-paced Defensive Shotgun class is designed to give you a good understanding of the 12 or 20 gauge shotgun and its versatility as a defensive weapon. We will assist you in building a fundamental skill set with the shotgun and being able to run a shotgun for home defense or in a tactical environment. We will cover proper ammo selection for each person’s unique circumstances. We will teach you methods of selecting ammunition on the fly and how to load different types of ammunition that you have at your disposal for various different situations.
PREREQUISITES: Either Beginner Handgun or Beginner Rifle or equivalent is required, and Handgun Proficiency and/or Rifle Proficiency are encouraged.
MINIMUM ROUND COUNT – 125 birdshot, 50 buckshot, and 25 slugs
Shooting Around Barricades
8 hours — How to utilize cover or concealment to shoot from behind barricades
This barricade skills course is challenging and fast paced, and was designed to teach you how to shoot from behind cover or concealment with a handgun or rifle. We will teach you how to move into shooting positions behind barriers that simulate the positions that have been used in actual armed encounters in the LEO/Mil/PMC realm. We will push you to be able to shoot in more unusual positions than you could imagine and effectively hit your target while minimizing your exposure to danger.
Our goal is to push you to reach your highest potential in the course. Defensive Handgun or Defensive Rifle is a prerequisite for this course. This will be a physically demanding course so please come prepared.
PREREQUISITES: Either Defensive Handgun or Defensive Rifle (preferably both)

Introduction to Competitive Handgun
6 hours — Gain a foundational understanding of skills, techniques, and knowledge that is required to compete effectively in USPSA and IDPA matches, including competition safety rules, competitive shooting principles, and equipment optimization.
Taught by world-class competition shooter Frank Xu, this training aims to enhance the skills of seasoned shooters, focusing on your techniques, increasing accuracy, and optimizing your performance under competitive conditions.
- Introduction to USPSA and IDPA: rules, scoring, division, and match procedures.
- Safety rules and equipment requirements for competitive shooting.
- Resources for USPSA and IDPA: memberships, locations, and more.
- Basic shooting fundamentals: stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control.
- Target engagement techniques and drills.
- Movement and positioning strategies for effective stage execution.
- Introduction to stage planning and mental preparation.
Participants will leave with a foundational understanding of USPSA and IDPA, essential shooting skills, confidence, and safety to participate in local matches.
PREREQUISITES: Must complete Handgun Proficiency, but completion of Defensive Handgun or equivalent is highly recommended.

Utah School Guardian
8 hours — Utah School Guardians are put into a difficult position. Most teachers and administrators did not sign up for the responsibility of protecting their students from a violent attack when they began their careers, but it is now a modern reality and this course will help prepare them.
Our teachers and administrators need all the support that we can give them. We have developed this course specifically so that our teachers and admins can get the training that they need to succeed in this role as school guardians. We provide the tools needed to give them the knowledge and understanding that they need to respond in these active shooter scenarios.
PREREQUISITES: None, but Handgun Proficiency or equivalent is highly recommended!

It is extremely important to us that firearms are always used in a safe, prudent, moral and legal manner. We will only teach individuals that intend to use this training in a lawful manner. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. All of our courses require a holster for the handgun and/or a sling for the carbine/rilfe you are using, multiple magazines, pouches to hold the magazines, and proper eye and ear protection.
